In 1994 a crack geology unit was sent to university by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men (and women) promptly (three years later) escaped from a maximum security stockade (the Herdman building) to the Liverpool underground (Central Station). Today, still wanted by the government (student loans), they survive as soldiers of fortune (and librarians). If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the GPG-Team.

10 years on

Today is the 10th anniversary of October 23rd 1996. I don't recall anything significant happening that day, but we were all in Liverpool enjoying GPG lectures like a good GPG Boy should.

I saw Tobias B. Walke and Timothias J. Robertson last weekend. Or maybe it was the weekend before. Either way, we are all 10 years older than we were 10 years ago, but we've aged magnificently. I wonder what our secret is? Maybe it's GPG, or maybe it's Maybelline. I'm sure Phil uses plenty of foundation to cover up his wrinkles.

How about a Liverpool rendezvous in the new year? I spoke to "Doctor" Jim Marshall last week and he'd be delighted* to compere a night of fun and frivolity.
* - I've not asked him yet, of course

Erm, that's it really. Haven't met up with Ken "Craig" Saint or Stripey "Stuart" Kilnan in Aberdeen, even though I know I should. Sorry about that.

According to the web, there was a guest lecture in the University of Liverpool Chemistry Dept on October 23rd 1996, given by a chap from Manchester. I didn't bother going, but perhaps I should've done.
